Sarcófago 成立於 1985 年的巴西貝洛奧里藏特（Belo Horizonte），由 Wagner “Antichrist” Lamounier 領軍，是極端金屬史上最具顛覆性與爭議性的樂團之一。他們與 Sepultura、Holocausto、Mutilator 等樂團共同構築了巴西地下金屬場景的早期輪廓，同時也是全球黑金屬發展史中無法忽視的關鍵存在。

Sarcófago 的影響力，來自於他們將死亡金屬的殘暴性與早期黑金屬的邪惡氛圍推向極端。1987 年發行的經典專輯《I.N.R.I.》，以極度原始的錄音、瘋狂高速的鼓擊（包括早期爆裂鼓的運用）、混亂卻極具侵略性的 riff，以及褻瀆與反宗教的美學，建立出一種前所未見的極端聲響與形象語言。這張作品深刻影響了後來的 Mayhem、Darkthrone、Beherit 等樂團，也奠定了南美極端金屬在全球版圖中的地位。

在視覺與態度上，Sarcófago 同樣具有革命性。他們率先以子彈帶、皮革、倒十字與屍裝等元素塑造出極端金屬的經典形象，這種帶有暴力與褻瀆象徵的風格，後來成為黑金屬文化的重要符號之一。音樂上，他們從極端混沌逐步走向更具結構的殘暴與速度控制，持續推進死亡與黑金屬交界的可能性。

Sarcófago 的現場，是一種近乎失控的原始能量釋放。高速鼓擊與鋸齒般的吉他音牆交織出混亂而暴烈的聲場，整體氛圍充滿攻擊性與不安定感，彷彿將觀眾拖入一場無序而邪惡的儀式。這種來自 80 年代南美地下的粗糙與真實，至今仍然保有極強的衝擊力。

8 月 27 日，這股源自巴西的極端原始力量將首度降臨台灣現場。對於所有關注黑／死金屬起源與極端美學的樂迷而言，這是一場不可錯過的歷史級演出。

Formed in 1985 in Belo Horizonte, Brazil, Sarcófago is one of the most radical and influential bands in the history of extreme metal. Led by Wagner “Antichrist” Lamounier, they emerged alongside Sepultura, Holocausto, and Mutilator, shaping the early Brazilian underground metal scene while leaving a lasting mark on the global evolution of black metal.

Sarcófago’s legacy comes from pushing both brutality and atmosphere to the edge. Their 1987 landmark album I.N.R.I. introduced an unprecedented level of raw production, chaotic yet aggressive riffing, relentless speed, and blasphemous anti-religious imagery. The early use of blast beats and unfiltered sonic violence helped define a new extreme language in metal. This record became a crucial influence on bands such as Mayhem, Darkthrone, and Beherit, and played a major role in shaping the identity of second-wave black metal.

Visually and ideologically, Sarcófago helped establish the archetype of extreme metal aesthetics. Bullet belts, corpse paint, inverted crosses, and leather gear became part of their signature image — a confrontational and blasphemous visual language that would later become essential to black metal culture worldwide. Over time, their sound evolved from chaotic rawness into a more structured yet still ferocious form, continuing to explore the boundaries between death and black metal.

A Sarcófago live performance is a surge of uncontrolled primitive energy. Blazing drums and razor-sharp guitar walls collide into a violent and unstable sonic mass, creating an atmosphere of chaos, aggression, and ritualistic intensity. It feels like being pulled into the raw essence of 1980s South American underground metal — unrefined, dangerous, and real.

On August 27, this legendary force from Brazil will bring their savage legacy to Taiwan. For anyone devoted to the roots of black and death metal, this is a historic ritual not to be missed.
