Heretoir 與 Unreqvited 是當代 Post-Black Metal、Atmospheric Black Metal 與 Blackgaze 領域中頗具代表性的兩個名字。來自德國的 Heretoir 由 David「Eklatanz」C. 於 2006 年創立，早期以個人計畫形式活動，之後逐漸發展為完整樂團；加拿大的 Unreqvited 則由音樂人鬼（Ghost）於 2016 年展開。兩者皆以黑金屬為根基，卻透過 Post-Rock、Shoegaze、Ambient 與管弦編曲，將憂鬱、孤獨與內在情緒轉化為遼闊而細膩的聲音。

Heretoir 的音樂融合 Black Metal、Post-Rock、Shoegaze 與 Post-Metal。從《Heretoir》、《The Circle》、《Nightsphere》到《Solastalgia》，樂團持續發展冰冷悠長的吉他旋律、層層堆疊的音牆，以及黑腔與乾淨人聲交錯的編曲。作品經常描寫失落、孤獨、懷舊、自然與環境議題，在猛烈爆發與寧靜沉思之間形成強烈對比。

相較之下，Unreqvited 的音樂更加空靈且富有管弦色彩。從《Disquiet》、《Stars Wept to the Sea》、《Mosaic I》、《Mosaic II》、《Beautiful Ghosts》到《A Pathway to the Moon》，鬼將 Atmospheric Black Metal 結合 Ambient、Post-Rock、鋼琴、弦樂與大量多層次旋律，塑造出近似電影配樂的遼闊音景。其作品雖源自憂鬱、焦慮與內在掙扎，卻經常在黑暗之中保留溫暖、希望與情緒療癒的出口。

Heretoir 與 Unreqvited 分別呈現了現代情緒型黑金屬的兩種面貌：前者以厚重吉他、強烈動態與直接的情緒爆發撼動聽者；後者則以夢境般的旋律、管弦層次與沉浸式氛圍包覆感官。當兩者的音樂交會，將帶領觀眾走入一片冰冷、哀傷，卻同時充滿光亮與生命力的聲音世界。

Heretoir and Unreqvited stand among the most prominent names in today's Post-Black Metal, Atmospheric Black Metal, and Blackgaze scenes. Germany's Heretoir was founded in 2006 by David "Eklatanz" C., initially as a one-man project before evolving into a full band. Canada's Unreqvited, meanwhile, was launched in 2016 by the musician known as Ghost. Rooted in Black Metal, both artists expand the genre through elements of Post-Rock, Shoegaze, Ambient, and orchestral arrangements, transforming melancholy, solitude, and inner emotion into vast, immersive soundscapes.

Heretoir seamlessly blends Black Metal with Post-Rock, Shoegaze, and Post-Metal. Across albums such as Heretoir, The Circle, Nightsphere, and Solastalgia, the band has developed a signature sound defined by cold, soaring melodies, towering walls of guitars, and the interplay between harsh screams and clean vocals. Their music often explores themes of loss, loneliness, nostalgia, nature, and the relationship between humanity and the environment, striking a compelling balance between emotional intensity and quiet introspection.

In contrast, Unreqvited embraces a more ethereal and cinematic approach. From Disquiet and Stars Wept to the Sea to Mosaic I, Mosaic II, Beautiful Ghosts, and A Pathway to the Moon, Ghost fuses Atmospheric Black Metal with Ambient, Post-Rock, piano, strings, and layered orchestration to create expansive, film-like sonic landscapes. While the music draws inspiration from melancholy, anxiety, and inner struggle, it consistently leaves room for warmth, hope, and emotional catharsis beneath its dark exterior.

Together, Heretoir and Unreqvited embody two distinct yet equally captivating expressions of modern emotional Black Metal. Heretoir delivers powerful dynamics, crushing guitars, and raw emotional intensity, while Unreqvited envelops listeners in dreamlike melodies, orchestral textures, and deeply immersive atmospheres. Their music invites audiences into a world that is cold and sorrowful, yet ultimately filled with beauty, light, and emotional resonance.
